SHANGHAI, September 1 (SMM). The Composite Purchasing Managers’ Index for Nickel Wire and Nickel Mesh was 50.36 in August. Although nickel prices remained high in August, demand for nickel mesh products remained stable, and demand for nickel in Jinchuan remained normal. However, it is worth noting that in August, some factories in Jiangsu province suffered power outages due to high temperatures, which led to reduced production and lower orders. Thus, the manufacturing index for August amounted to 49.91. At the same time, due to the high price of nickel in August, raw material inventories declined, and the raw material inventory index stood at 48.47. In September, the heat dropped and the company’s production schedule was back to normal. As a result, the manufacturing index will slightly improve: the September composite PMI will be 50.85.
